Our UK-based Mechanical Engineering team is seeking candidates with experience of either lifting/handling or waste in a nuclear or other regulated industry.
If you’re looking to boost your career and enrich your portfolio with new projects like Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, we invite you to join us.
KEY INFORMATION:
The focus of the work is the Turbine Hall Crane and Polar Crane and the responsibilities will be: delivering manufacturing support for the new equipment; commissioning on site after installation; and the provision of safety case support through this process.
- 3 Engineers to support Lifting and Mechanical Handling.
- 1 Radioactive Waste Engineer.
- Have a minimum of baseline security vetting.
Location: close to the HPC / Bristol / Gloucester areas are preferred.
SCOPE – LIFTING
- Delivering manufacturing support for the new equipment.
During manufacture, the engineers will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment being produced is in accordance with British regulations and has the required safety case validation to support this.
Requests for change will be handled to ensure that the design intent is maintained through any deviation requests; Non-conformances will similarly be reviewed to ensure the continuity of baseline design requirements through the rectification of any issues.
- Commissioning on site after installation:
Commissioning support is required to ensure that the operational system meets all the original requirements. This will include;
-Verification that the commissioning documentation is to the right standard and contains a demonstratable golden-thread from the original requirements through to the testing plans.
-Reviews are expected on a sample of the documentation, rather than on a 100% basis.
-Sentencing of commissioning non-conformances and the oversight of solutions to maintain design intent.
-On site support for periods during commissioning to enable expedited responses.
-On site commissioning at HPC is planned for 2027.
- Provision of safety case support through this process.
The engineers will have a responsibility to ensure that the safety case is adhered to, and any amendments required are identified to allow completion.
SCOPE – WASTE
Engineers are required that are experience in the mechanical handling of waste materials
